What do you/we need to know before the start of children's lessons?

Do your children have any medical conditions that will need to be considered whilst your children are in our care? ( diabetic, learning difficulties, allergies, medications, anxieties .. ) With this information we can assess more accurately the type of lessons most suitable for your child, choosing between either group or private lessons.

Please ensure your children are dressed adequately for cold weather.

Please provide a snack and Soft juice/water pack for rest stops. (put in child's pocket)

Please ensure children / teenagers have had an adequate breakfast and lunch before the start of lessons.

Keep children hydrated and well protected with sunscreen.

Please be aware of lesson times and drop off and pick up meeting places.

Please be on time to drop off and pick up your children from lessons.
What do we learn during lessons?

Each course has technical progression and well defined objectives based on the specific level of all participants at the start of the course. Lower down you will find the different courses available.

Fundamental skiing skills will be developed to enhance confidence and safety on the slopes.

Children receive individual feedback and will carry out fun drills, games, and skills to improve performance.

Key elements of children's group lessons will ensure safety, fun and learning.

All children learn and improve slightly differently. Our aim is to create a fun learning environment where improvement and learning is encouraged, however there must be a balance. We are not necessarily looking for the perfect technical model at this stage, but developing the basis of the necessary skills.
Do children need ski poles for lessons?

Children beginners do not require ski poles for their first week of skiing, they tend to get in the way of learning and especially on the ski lifts.

Children will learn to rely on their feet and not the ski poles for braking.

Children will require ski poles from level 1 onwards.
Do children need pocket money or a snack during lessons?

Usually half way into a children's group lesson we will have a break of approximately 10 minutes to allow children to have a rest, eat a small snack and drink some water and have a toilet stop.

If the weather is nice and conditions permit the break will take place on the snow, however if the weather is bad we will take shelter in one of our huts or in a mountain refuge/bar.

Put in your child's pocket a small snack and maybe a juice or water in a soft pack.

In bad weather conditions please put 10€ in your child's pocket then we can access a warm bar for shelter and a hot drink.
Should we purchase a 6 day lift pass for complete beginners children (6-12 yo)?

Normally children beginners do not need a lift pass on the first & second day of skiing as we make use of the free lifts available at the base of the slopes.

From day three of lessons children will normally have progressed onto the paying lifts on slightly steeper gradients.

From day three of lessons children will require a full resort lift pass to progress further up the mountain if necessary.

If you are planning on your children skiing for the full 6 days we highly recommend the purchase of the 6 day pass included in a package with lessons. The price of our 6 day pass purchased in a package is the equivalent to a three day pass if purchased directly at the main ticket office.
What ski lifts does the lift pass cover when purchased as part of a package with lessons?

Lift passes are valid to use on all ski lifts and installations at all times both before, during and after courses.

The lift pass can also be used on all lifts even without ski equipment, for example to visit the glacier, ice caves , Pano bar and Venosc village as examples.
Does the price of the lift pass & lessons include accident or liability insurance?

The cost of lift pass and lessons DOES NOT include accident or liability insurance.

We highly recommend the purchase of accident / liability insurance that will cover first aid , medical expenses, mountain recovery etc.

Insurance can be added as an extra to the purchase of a six day lift pass at the main ticket office , however this must be done before the lift pass has been used for the first time.

The price is around € 3.50 per person per day.
Does insurance cover for loss of lessons and lift pass in the case of injury or illness?

Lift pass insurance purchased locally in Les Deux Alpes DOES NOT COVER in the event of loss of lessons and lift pass due to injury or illness.

Before the start of lessons make sure your personal holiday insurance covers you for loss of lessons and lift pass in the event of injury or illness.

The ski school can provide proof of loss of lessons and lost time on lift pass with a covering letter to be presented to your insurance company with an accompanying doctors certificate.
